jdmkleinIt is the weekend again. And again the weather sucks. It's not just me saying this. i had a student come into my office today and mention the same thing. Not only that but he is a student i don't even particularly like and the weather was bad enough that he had to comment on it.
We had a discussion last night. i tried to pick a time when we were both in relatively good moods. Then He told me He was sick. That's just about the way everything goes.i explained my feelings. We didn't argue and i didn't cry and He said i was important to Him, and i know nothing is going to change, even though He said He would work on it. The good thing is i got it off my chest and it's over and done. The bad thing is i know how i will be affected because He won't change. It has nothing to do with His dominance. It has lots to do with how we were raised. Very differently.
Daughter went to Nevada on Sunday and picked up most of her belongings. The former S.O. is back in the hospital, the boys say he has just given up on himself. i won't be surprised if he doesn't get out. This is really the best. She shouldn't be down there alone if he is going to be long term hospitalized. She needs to start a new life.
i love Auntie Nurse. Daughter is going to Easter sunrise service with her grandfather, her uncle and her two neices. She has nothing nice and eastery to wear. Auntie Nurse is going to outfit her from top to toe. Said this is a good time to make a new beginning, and easter is a new beginning time. And new beginning times need new clothes.
If she gets the apartment she already has a couch, tv and buffet along with her few meager possessions. i will be home for her b'day this year for the first time in several years. She can make do with one or two dishes and settings of silverware and glasses. She can drink instant coffee for a few months, and for her b'day this year we can give her a house party. Coffee maker, new dishes, new flatware, new pans, some lamps and tables. Some monthly bus passes and she will be good to go.
