Apr. 6th, 2003 08:04 pmIt was another busy day at work today, but i feel much better tonight than i have in a long time.
The weather is getting warmer, so we have been able to eat outside every night this week. It is beautiful. Some nights the sky is breathtaking. Last night, there was a haze over the water. We couldn't tell where the water ended and the sky began.
Took the dog to the desert early today. We saw a chub, a brown paper bag colored lizard. Very aggressive but not poisonous. Glad to hear that. We didn't let Max see the lizard. He has enough issues with self esteem, it would be horrid for some dumb lizard to scare him and make him feel badly.
On the way home from work today i saw a herd of over 100 camels, maybe even 150. It was so amazing. Another great thing happened to me today on the way home. i drove in the shadow of a C5, a big transport plane. i love it when that happens. It is something special.
We are trying something new tonight, stir fry on Iranian bread. Not bad, but needs a little refinement. Mine was too wet and Master's was too much. Worth repeating again, though.
i had to stand up to the deans today. All three of them in one meeting. No one lost a temper, i wasn't even close, small meeting...i don't feel threatened in small meetings....only woman thing is a bit unnerving. Funny, in the U.S. i wouldn't think anything about being the only woman, but here it is another story.
Will have to have a sit-down with one of the male students soon. He was very very disrespectful to my secretary. That will not be allowed. J will talk to him first, and if it happens again, the student will be sent to the Vice Dean Student Affairs. He had no right to be disrespectful to her. NO Right.! Stupid little fuck!
The soldiers living on the beach across the street from us now have an earthen berm all around their camp. i wonder if they are expecting trouble with suicide bombers? This may not be something i mention to my family.
