jdmkleinThe staff meeting today went far better than i ever expected. i came away feeling totally useless and incompetent. They asked questions i can't answer. i have tried and had no luck. They want information i can't give them. i don't understand why they can't understand they are not going to get the answers they want. They aren't going to get the answers they don't want. They are asking "What if...?" and that is not the university's priority. And what gain would they have when the university does give them an answer but it's not the one they want? Why can't they just get on with their lives? The university is going to take care of us or it isn't. Those are the only two options. How they take care of us remains to be seen. But we know what they will mean when they say they won't take care of us. The embassies have advised everyone to reassess their situations. How safe do they feel? If they don't feel safe, they should get out. It can't be said any clearer than that. Those who are demanding to know what the university is going to do, it seems to me, are very near the 'getting out' point. They should just do it, or shut up and get on with their lives. i am not very popular right now. Too bad for them.
We have neighbors. Just today. The man is standing out on his balcony yelling into his cell phone talking to some one. Must be long distance. Two simple reasons for me to make that conclusion. The house phone doesn't have a long distance line, and he's only been in Kuwait a few hours, how could he possibly know anyone? Oops, i was wrong. Master said he is giving directions to someone to get to the complex.
We have a sick dog tonight. He is about driving me crazy. He is gagging and licking the floor. He was pulling the hair out of his tail. He is licking anything he can, the couch until there was a wet spot, the floor. And then he gags. And then he vomits.The vets here are not much more than cutters and shot givers. There is no 24 hr. emergency service. i am at my wit's end. i don't know how to help him. He doesn't act sick, sick, but his nose is warm. i don't think he's gotten into any poisonous thing, but i can't be sure. i am looking forward to no sleep tonight. i am nervous and afraid, and Master is concerned about this dog, tempers are short. And that makes me feel even worse.
