jdmkleini'm just back from a Warden's meeting. i've come back with four frim pieces of information. 1) i am living in the best defended country in the world. Defended by the best military in the world. 2) If i feel uncomfortable about where i'm at, i should leave. The U.S. government will never tell me i have to leave. i should make up my mind at what point i can no longer be here. 3) The U.S. government does absolutely not believe there will be an emergency evacuation 4) The Kuwait American School has announced that it will be closing for an extended period from February 9 to March 22. It seems that many, if not all of the other private schools that have America in their names will be following suit.
i also have heard that the Director of the Language Center is trying to find out what the university is going to do about A: reopening after semester break B: salary, people who don't return, people who leave. people who stay but cannot teach because classes are closed, people who stay.
Suddenly, there is life outside Kuwait. i'm watching the Colombia story. It brings my mind back to reality. Kuwait is not the only place in the world that can suffer needless tragedy. My thoughts are for the families who have lost their loved ones.
