jdmkleinWe took shaow dog out to the desert for a run today. He had so much fun, we decided to get some food and have a picnic dinner out there too. So we did. Max found a new play toy, a small container of mayonaise. He would bat it around with his feet and dig at it in the sand. It would fly out from underneath him and between his hind legs, and then he would nearly fall over trying to catch it as it went under him. He is sure a silly dog.
i got an email message from some friends in Taiwan. They had adopted a little girl who was abandoned after the earthquake in 1999. They have another daughter, chinese also, who must be about 9 or 10 now. i cried when i saw the girls and their mother in the picture. i miss those people over there. i also heard, from another friend, that one of my colleagues died of cancer in September. She was about 10 years younger than i am, and was one of the most healthy living women i have ever known. We had our differences, but we worked well together. We went to HaNoi in 1994 together, right after Viet Nam was opened to tourism. i shall miss her.
It's very humid again tonight. The good thing is, it's much much cooler, so the humidity doesn't lay so heavy on us. Linda Lou, the godawful morning show dj, says we should have clouds by the weekend. That means the possibility of rain.
There was snow again in Iowa last night. i don't remember when it snowed so early in the seaon like this. Halloween will be done on sleds and skates this year, i imagine. If there is a Halloween allowed.
i am tired and need to sleep. hooray for the anaheim angels.
