It has been a busy busy day. We left the house about 12 hours ago. We were home for about 15 minutes at 4:00 and then off again to take the dog to the desert. He loves to run out there. Now that it's cool, we plan to take him out every day. On the way home we stopped at Hardee's and got a philly cheese steak wannabee. Master loves those things. Then we stopped at Sears and Master bought four new pairs of work slacks.

i sat back and looked at that paragraph. What city do we live in? Sears and Hardees? Hmmm. If i didn't know better i'd say it was a little america in the Middle East.

Most things are very very expensive here, but Master fell into a sale and came out smelling like a rose. He got four pair of Haggar Black Label slacks for about $40. i bought Him a pair of dockers in the States last summer, on sale, and paid $25. And they fit perfectly. i don't have to shorten them at all. How lucky is that?

Got home from the desert, the little haji truck man knows us now. He sees the car coming, smiles and holds up one finger. i nod, and before we get stopped, Master's coke is opened and waiting for us. The man is still a bit nervous of the dog, i think he knows the dog won't bother him, but just doesn't quite trust him. Dog, on the other hand barely pays attention to the man with the coke. He's too engrossed in the sheep or camels that are always near the truck.

Busy, busy today at work too. An exam to proctor, a student to counsel, several talks with the VDAA and the Faculty Secretary about this and that and the other. It was a good day. Not so busy i didn't have a chance to think, but busy enough that the time didn't drag. It was a good day. Even P was feeling ok. She didn't through a hissy fit all day long. She is a beautiful woman when she laughs. Too bad she doesn't do it often enough.

i'm watching the Iowa Michigan game. Delayed broadcast. They are playing at Michigan, but Iowa is ahead by 21 points. i love it. A Michigan player, Cato June, was taken off the field on a stretcher. Only nine minutes left in the game. An Iowa football game, lunch at Hardee's, shopping at Sears, how very mundane. Oh, but the camels, i forgot the camels. In all my years in Iowa, i never once saw a camel next to the road. i promise.
