Dec. 28th, 2004 08:17 ami just looked at a world map. Sri Lanka isn't as far away as i was thinking. i guess the change in the water isn't so surprising given how close the gulf is to the epicenter of the quake. On the other hand, the gulf is a very protected water. On the other other hand, the surge would be funneled into the mouth of the gulf, and the water would have no where to go.
