another interesting (but frustrating) day

jdmkleinNo class today, so i didn't bother to go in. i had spent the weekend anticipating today. New yarn, new pattern, and Big Stong Boys. Lots of pretty yarn. Three new patterns. i turned on the tv and only got picture. i thought it might be the company's problem so i let it sit for a bit. An hour goes by and no joy. i remembered that sometimes the box goes a bit goofey and needs to be unplugged at the box. i did that. Now i have sound and no picture. And everything is so complicated because He has seventyteen different things hooked up in back that even with tech support from the cable company i couldn't figure it out.
i am hating this living arrangement. And i am close to really really disliking the way my life is going. i am not an incompetent woman. But with Him gone, i feel so goddamned helpless. He tells me just enough about any specific thing to allow me to turn it off/on/in/out/sideways, but not to do a simple fix if it gets screwed up somehow. So now, i have no tv and no hope of it until at least Thursday night. ARGH!!!! Calgon, take me away.!!! And at this moment i am dangerously close to seriously wondering if maybe i might want to possibly rethink my position in this relationship. Or not.
On a more saner note:
The halloween count at Mangaf complex apt. 461 went up a whopping 200% over last year. Tonight i had 3 trick or treaters. Spider man, a teletubby, and a princess. Of course i bought way too much candy. Oh well.
And my food tonight had too much garlic in it, and now i'm suffering.
And the whole country of Kuwait was without power from 1:00 this afternoon, until after 6 pm. One would think an oil rich country like this could afford more than one outlet to supply electricity to the populateion. That's a lot alot of extenstion cords and a heck of an overload on the circuit.
