jdmkleinThe season is changing. i turned the a/c off from just after 6:30 this morning until nearly noon. Then the only reason i turned it on again, was because the wind was so hot. It was gusting in the back windows of the apartment and blowing everything loose all over the place. i got tired of chasing the roll of paper towels across the kitchen floor.
Sarah is having trouble with her computer, so we are talking to each other on her grandmother's machine. Mother doesn't mind, but her computer doesn't have the screen reader Sarah is used to using and that makes it difficult for Sarah. Just another of life's little irritations.
Master is working from home tonight. He's making calls and doing deals. And trying to unsnafu the snafus that have happened. Seems there is some concern about the satellite service at the UmQasr warehouse. Then there was the discussion with the man who was in charge of the berthing units. Seems the American style mattresses that were supposed to be on the beds turned into pieces of sponge. i worry about this new job of Master's. i know He loves the work, but He gets so frustrated by the bull that goes on.
i have finally figured out how to knit stockings. For the longest time i have struggled with using four needles. When i was in Bloomingdale LMSG took me to a yarn shop. This is what i want to do when i retire, open a yarn shoppe cum tea house cum gathering place for women. Anyway, one of the women who works in the shop suggested i try two circular needles. i did, and got along swimmingly for about 3/4s of the pattern. Then i had problems. i don't read instructions well, and since i had one idea in my mind how it should look and the instructions weren't going in that direction i was totally lost. Dyslexia of the knitting needles.
Sunday night i finally figured it out. On the trip back i finished the first stocking. It is filled with mistakes, but that's ok, i completed it and now have a good picture in my mind of how a correctly made one will look. Today, while waiting for laundry to dry, i worked on the second one. i think i will keep the very first one as a reminder, and make two more with fewer mistakes. i have plenty of yarn. Stockings for everyone on the Christmas list this year.
i am on the laptop and don't have a good photo program to downsize any picts. i want to put one up of my Stocking. i am so proud. Master is looking for a disk that has a program He really likes. Maybe later.
