Aug. 8th, 2004 10:43 pmWe went out for breakfast this morning. Which was a good thing, it saved Sarah from packing and repacking and repacking yet again her things for the camp. By the time we got home, it was nearly 1:30 and she and i were leaving at 2:00 for the drive down to camp.
It was an uneventful trip down. i was a bit worried that the new stress of going to camp might cause Sarah to have a seizure or two on the way down, but we got her all registered and money secured and meds taken care of with no problems at all. i went with her to her cabin, and helped her get her bed made up, unroll the sleeping bag and pick out a pillow. She will probably be the least disabled person there this week of the campers. She is in a cabin with three other women, in their mid to late 20s. Each camper has her own counselor, to help with any little things the disability might prevent.
They will have a snake handler visit tomorrow, and a camp out/cook out on Tuesday. Wednesday is international cuisine day, and Thursday night is the going away dance. i hope she has fun. i hope she has so much fun she has a reputation to live up to next year. i hope she enjoys herself so much she wants to go back again next year.
The camp is quite nice. It is run completely on donations. i intend to make one, but i have decided to wait until after Sarah gets back to determine the amount. The donation will be comensurate with the amount of enjoyment she has.
Eileen and i are going swimming tomorrow. And maybe out to buy a tv for my room. i think we are going to get Mother a new computer for her birthday. This one i am using is so slow it makes me want to scream.
i didn't get to talk to Master today. We were out to brunch. i have to check in with Him tomorrow. It's raining right now. A lovely gentle rain. A very soothing sound. i have managed to NOT take a nap since i have been here. This has helped with the sleeping at night. Although i have also been cheating a bit by using pills. i'll try tomorrow night to go without.
