We left Friday evening, a bit before 7. i drove Ellen into Waterloo and passed son's new house. And then on to Delhi. Connie was there and had been drinking already. Connie drinks too much. Not a judgement, a statement of fact. i have to wonder about the quality of her work before 11 a.m. each workday. i don't care, i was there for that purpose too, to drink too much. And i did. But not so much i woke up with a hangover. My intention was to finish a case of beer before we left Sunday morning. i didn't. Maybe only half. i didn't count what was left, and i left it for her.

Ellen had been up since 3:30, she had to be into the hospital by 5:30 to prep for an early morning procedure, so she wasn't going to drink that night. She did, however want to get the strawberry margarita's made and in the freezer so they would be slushy for Saturday. Later, after Annie got there, Ellen decided that she did want a drink. Went to get the margs out of the freezer and she and Connie proceeded to spill about 1/4 the bucket. Which set them into fits of giggles. It was good to hear them laffing.

Connie and i tended the fire until after 3, then went to bed. i woke up at six and got up about 6:30 when Ellen came down. We made coffee and sat on the deck watching the lake doing its early morning thing.

We took about a 3 hr pontoon ride. No sunscreen for this chickie and only 1 bottle of water. By the last end of the lake i was sucking water into my bottle from the melted ice in the cooler. Connie isn't allowed to drive the pontoon boat. She isn't allowed to drive the ski boat either. She shares the cabin with her ex-. The boats are his, but he will let a neighboer take her out. Neighbor did.

It was hot on the water. We stopped twice for cooling off dips. Actually more like freeze dips, but i was certainly cool when i got back on the boat.

After the boat ride Annie brought out the rest of the afternoon's entertainment. She does estate sales and had a ton'o'stuff to price for an upcoming one. We looked through all the jewelry and antique doilies and things. i felt a bit of the voyeur, but it was fun. Learned some things too. Like what trafari is and wade pieces are collectable, the ones made in England. And the difference between stuff made in Japan that is good and stuff made in Japan that isn't.

Annie made a killer dish for dinner. Will put it on a later entry. Too good to lose in this mish mash. Then we watched the fire again. Didn't stay up quite so late, i think it was 2:45 when i finally went to bed again. Up early Sunday morning, packed the car and was gone by 8:30. Ellen and i got to rehash the weekend on the way back to Cedar Falls. i love those women. We have been together a long long long time.

Went to the showing of Son's new home. It is old, and has lots of potential. It is liveable, but will be a lot of work for them to get it the way they want it. Already they are talking about redoing the kitchen, and the living room. i say steam clean the carpet before they get their stuff in there, and see what feels good to them as they get used to living in it. Don't know if they will listen to the mother.

Tomorrow is a busy day. Dennis to work at 7:30, Mother to the dentist at 8:30, Sarah to counselor at 11, the lawyer at 2:00 and sometime in their we want to shop. shopping may have to happen on Wednesday. Thursday is my baby girl's b'day, and Friday is the celebration. Don't know what is up for Satruday, and then Sunday is laundry and packing day. Monday to the airport by 10:30 and then on my way, if the flight out of here isn't late.

Have rambled enough. Am done.
