Sometimes expecting the worst pays
Sep. 1st, 2004 09:58 amRemembering the trip back to Kuwait last year, i reconfirmed my ticket early so i would have time to re-reconfirm this year. And it went so very easily, except i the number i had for the Chicago office was not accessible in my area, the number for the New York office was the cargo terminal, and the number i finally got to use wasn't an 800 one. Then i had to reconfirm my ticket to Chicago. Any other airline would make this procedure a one stop shopping kind of effort, but Not Kuwait Airways. But it is done. i am reconfirmed, i have put the number in a safe place and will re-reconfirm again next week.
The trip to CA was nice. It pays to travel with an old lady and a blind chick. Being the hanger-on in that entourage, i got to ride with them. Good thing too, DFW is a HUGE airport. And of course we came in at the far end of one terminal and departed at the far end of the terminal farthest away on both ends of the trip. Thank you who ever invented the electric golf cart.
Many things to do before i leave. i will begin working on them next week.
Son and DIL bought their first home. They take posession Oct. 11. Too bad i will not be here to help them move.......NOT!. Am trying to come up with a nice housewarming giftie thing for them. i'm thinkin' Christmas and b'days for the next couple of years will be gift certificates to Home Depot and Lowe's. It's a nice house with new siding and windows outside. The inside has one room left to redo. The house is 113 yrs. old. Of course they have ideas of how they want their house to be, so all the stuff done before will be redone. And a deck. Yes, yes, Home Depot will become like a member of the family.
i miss Master.
Today Auntie Nurse and i are having our last day together. She goes back to work next week.
This weekend is the lake trip. Going down on Friday night. Won't be able to spend the whole weekend, have to come back on Saturday so we can go to the grand viewing of the new home on Sunday. But that's ok.
