Woke up the morning the apartment was a nice cool 93 degrees. i had to shower before i could even get breakfast. Humidity about 90%. Master suspected the filters had frozen because of all the humidity. He turned the A/C off about 4 this morning and i turned it on before i left for work, hoping the filters had thawed.

Doing the needful for the new teachers today i was left standing out in the sun for nearly an hour. The temp was about 112, the humidity 80%. i was hot and sticky all day. i hate that.i have not completely cooled down yet.

When i got back from housing, i had to park Emerson in the sun. It was so hot today that the temp guage could not cool completely down. On the way home the A/C in the car was pumping out as much cool air as it could, but it warmed to just below boiling (it seemed) before it got past the steering column.

Walked into the apartment and discovered the temp to be barely cooler than outside. Master was in the attic checking to see if the filters had indeed frozen. Nope, so the A/C man got called. He got up there and it seems there was one thread left on the compressor belt. As soon as it got put back together the apartment temp dropped 15 degrees. No kidding!

All of this excitement meant Max was late getting out for his run. After today, we may have to refer to him as the late dog, Max. He was antsy about being late and as soon as we let him out of the car he spotted a herd of goats and went full tilt after them. They were about 600 meters away from us, but i think with the heavy humidity in the air, their scent was easy to pick up. There was nothing we could do to dissuade him from chasing those goats. i think even the shepherd was impressed at the dog's ability to herd. The problem was that he went after a hobbled goat. i don't think he went after it to kill it, but because it was hobbled, it couldn't run as fast as the rest and fell behind. Max went back to herd it. But i'm afraid that now that he has a taste of herding, there are no sheep or goat herds safe in Kuwait. i am going to look for an electronic collar to train him. If he can't be trained we may have to put him down. We can't have him chasing goats and sheep. It seems they are expensive to replace. Bad Max. Bad, bad, Max.
