Aug. 2nd, 2003 07:56 pmTalked to Mother today instead of Daughter. D has an appointment with the specialist again next week. She's having more episodes. They aren't any worse than before, but they are coming more often. Auntie Nurse seems to think the doc will up the dose. i don't know if i will ever get over the guilt.
Daughter is waiting impatiently for her new cane. She asked Mother to call her to let her know if it arrives today. She gets to go to the other side family reunion this year. It's Sunday. She's really excited about it. Mother says D put on a fashion show trying to find just the right outfit to wear. i'm so happy she is near my family again. i'm even willing to share her with her father's side of the family if she can be near mine.
i can see the light at the end of the summer school tunnel. Four days of class left this week and one day next week. Then the final exam. Why is now the time the little darlings decide to start acting stupid? i had to get tough with two of them today. One cut class so she could go home and do the assignment that was due today. i gave her until 2:00 to get it in. i gave the other the same time line, but i don't know if he will or not.
They have five days left and have an outline and an essay (first and second drafts) to write and they are screwing off. They want it fed to them on a golden spoon. They don't understand that what we are trying to provide for them is going to help them in their content courses too. i mean honest to hot if they can't understand what they are reading they are going to have to work so hard to keep up. And if i ever have to go to the hospital and have one of them work on me, i sure as heck want them to know the difference between an ear and an elbow.
We are having ohm'god HOT weather today. At noon it was 122. Poor dog was pussy footin' it all during his run. Sometimes i wonder if people who see us out on the desert think we are being cruel to him. Truth be told, it would be crueler to not take him out. He is compelled to run at 5:00 in the afternoon. He begins to get antsy about 3 and by 4:30 he is driving Master and i up the wall. Today Master had to go out about 3:00 and poor dog was beside himself. He thought Master had gone out without him. He sat by the front door and had the saddest expression i have ever seen on a live animal. And then when Master came home, dog was overjoyed. phew, i'm glad Master came back.
