Jul. 18th, 2003 07:36 pmA nice weekend. Not too busy, but things that had to be done, got done. And now it's time to be chillin'.
Maybe Emerson doesn't need a new engine now. Sunday, i hope, it will go into the shop for a fine tooth comb check-up. It ran better today than it has in a few weeks but still has no pickup. i hope there is another something wrong, that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to repair. And after our discussion on the way out to the desert yesterday, today, at least, Master is letting me know what is going on in His head about my car. That makes me feel better. In my head, i knew that He was thinking, but because He didn't ever include me in those head conversations, my heart would wonder what was going on.
The ocean was so blue today. The sky quite bright, the ships far out looked like white polka dots there were so many. Today when we came back from errands there was a tanker being pushed by a tug, straight at us on the road. By the time we got up out of the car park, the ship was headed toward the pumping station. They are ugly and beautiful at the same time. To think that something so large can be so graceful in the water.
There is much beauty in this country. Sometimes it's just hard to see it because of all the other stuff that gets in our eyes. The Kuwaitis, for all their ability to get up my nose because of cultural differences, know the beautif of this place. Sometimes they forget because of all the money that is handed out to them i think. They forget that this is truly an amazing place.
The textures of the desert, colors of the water, they appreciate the rare green and work their best to protect it. They do it diffently that i would, of course, but they are Arabs and i'm not and they have much more history over here.
