From now on staff meetings will follow Roberts Rules of Order. i'm sick and tired of tempers getting short because one or another of them feel their toes (tongues) are being stepped on. i am sick and tired of the same people saying the same thing over and over ad nausaum each time they open their mouths. i AM the queen of that little world, and by fuck it will run smoothly.

i got an apology from P today by email, after she came in and accused me of being defensive. Her accusation was in response to my reacting poorly to her childish outburst during the meeting. i haven't decided how to deal with her apology as yet. i don't know wheter to acknowledge and tell her thank you or just let it go. i appreciate that she has done it, i know it is difficult for her to do i just don't want to have anymore discussion about it. i'm so fed up with all of them i can hardly wait for the semester to end. Four weeks left of class and two of those days will be holiday because of first eid. Then i will have three weeks of them doing curriculum work. And goddammnit they will work on the curriculum.

i just went back and reread the post so far. i am much more tactful in person.

It appears we will be moving this weekend. The herris came up tonight to take our toilet seats. The ones in the new apartment are broken. Master said it's going to look pretty funny in those bathrooms with red seats on blue toilets. He also said our seats are broken too. The herris looked at them and said 'oh'. i think we get new ones.

The desert trip this morning was fantastic. It wasn't what we had read was predicted for the states, but we weren't expecting anything like 3500 meteors in an hour. We went to bed last night about 8:30 and set the alarm for 2:15. When we came home from the evening run, Master put the tarp, the chaise lounges, and winter clothes in the trunk of the car. We were on the road by 2:30 and at our prepicked viewing spot before 3:00. Even as we were setting up our cozy little viewing nest we began to see the meteors. If the moon had not been so darned bright we undoubtedly would have seen more. But, between the hours of 3:00 and 5:15, we saw over 215 meteors. Master and i scored some of them. We didn't see any 10s. i guess we kept waiting for the Big One. We did see some 9.5s and 9.2s and 9.4s. Plenty of 8s but nothing below a 7.9. We didn't see any of the predicted fireballs. The kind that light up the sky, but we did see some pretty good ones.

Max, a dog, had a blast. He ran for the shear joy of running. He sounded like a herd of buffalo with his big feet on the hardpack. He would sit beside us for a few minutes and then tear off on another rip. Once, i believe he forgot where he was going. He'd gone about about 100 meters from us, turned and came roaring back like a dog on a mission. Both Master and i protected our coffee cups, we both believed we would be wearing the contents. But Max just kept on running. Straight passed us like he didn't see us. We heard him come to a skidding stop and then he was zipping back.

We stayed cozy warm the whole time we were out. At the end, Max settled down and snuggled on our legs to either a) break them or b) keep them warm. i honestly thought i was warm when we got home about 5:30. i jumped in the shower, Master jumped into bed, the brat, and when i came out i was colder than when i went in. i was chilled to the bone until after 10 this morning. It got up to 85 degrees today, and i was wearing a long-sleeved turtleneck, jumper, tights, and a bulky sweater. i finally warmed up enough to take the sweater off about 10:30 or so.

i was busy today, doing damage control. i read jade's post on the list about a slave's free will. i want to write something about that. i always think too slolwy to get my head around a topic in time to make a timely response. Even if i don't post to the list, i d like to explore the idea of a slave's free will.
