jdmkleinOver the weekend, Master made frames for screens for the front windows. Because He didn't think He had a very good tool for putting in the spline, He wanted to take them to a screen shop. So at 10 this morning we were out of the house.
The internet provider had to be paid. That was the first stop. Then to the screen shop. It was no longer there. Not only wasn't it there, the building was gone too, and in it's place a new shopping mall thing is going up. Drive around the workshops of Fahaheel looking for another screen shop was the next order of business. Found one. No English speakers. Master is really good at pantomime, but the workers at the shop weren't buying any of it. Driving around some more. Another shop. English speakers. Would do the job right away, only cost 1 Kd. Such a deal. Master said we'd wait. And we waited. And we waited. And we waited. Upshot was, the shop had two sizes of spline, too big and too small. At least they were willing to admit they didn't have the correct size, rather than go ahead and put the too small in and not bother to mention it to us.
So, Master said He would go get the correct size spline, and bring it back and they could do it later in the day. Fine. Hands were shook all around. Master took me to sheer'a and went on His way to the hardware store, with a promise to be back at the beauty shop by 12:30.
i got in, got sheer'a-ed and waxed and called to ask where He was. He was waiting outside for me in the parking lot. Could have knocked me over with a feather. It took Him 45 minutes to get to the hardware store because of traffic. He didn't want me to have to wait in the hot sun so He didn't go to the market for groceries. We would do that together. i like shopping with Master.
Apparently so does everyone else in Kuwait, because they were all at the market. We got everything we needed, even found a fish who had been one with the sea yesterday. So the dinner menu was adjusted accordingly. The usual 25 minute drive home, lasted about 60 because we were trying to go upstream against the tide of cars going home for the mid-day break.(mixing my images, i know.)
Got home with enough time put the screens together ourselves. Master decided He didn't want to press His luck with the men at the shop. Got that done and then it was time to change clothes and take shau dog out for his walk. We got 45 minutes in today. Don't know what distance for sure, but do know for sure Max went 3x as far in the same amount of time. That dog is going to have a callous on the end of his nose. Should have named him Sniffer.
Got home from the desert and got dinner going. Ate on the patio this evening. It didn't seem as warm tonight as last night. i don't mind doing dishes, really i don't. The hot water takes the pain out of my hands. Washing dishes is soothing for me. i just hate doing them after we eat. We really chill out during dinner. The atmosphere and the view are so relaxing, i hate the fact that we have to leave it to do the dishes. But they got done.
i came in to talk to Sarah on the computer. She must have gone to spend the day with her uncle.
Now i must go pack a lunch and iron for tomorrow.
