jdmkleinMax is pooped and my arm is sore. We practiced 'heel' tonight. Going to take much much much more practice. Next lesson is Thursday evening. Max has a new collar for training. Looks horrid but is more humane than a choke collar.
i found myself in an unusual situation tonight. There were four of us training our dogs. i was the only female. That isn't the odd thing, if i had given any thought to it at all, i would have come up with that scenario. The unusual was that i was invited to sit in the diwania. The men's place for talking. i was offered 'tea with the boys'and we talked dog stuff until Yasser got there. Late seems to be the norm for him. It would be nice to feel a bit more comfortable with the men who are training their dogs too. One is a police officer. i have an ulterior motive for wanting to be friends with him. Unfortunately his English is barely existent. One man is in some sort of partnership with Yasser, he runs the horse side of the operation.
i suppose Max should feel a bit inferior but he doesn't. The other dogs working tonight were all purebred Greman shephards. They must be the German bred dogs because while they have the markings and coloring of the shephards i know, they don't have the same shape. These dogs have more mass and less length. The ones working tonight had pretty faces though i think Max is far more handsome. I promised Yasser Max would be at least a B student by Thursday evening. So, tomorrow when i get home, we shall practice some more. i will take him on the leash after his run and we can walk around the block.
i think it will be an interesting time. i am not looking for show quality, i just want a well trained dog, one i can not be concerned to take where other people are. We shall see what happens. i want Max to be well on his way by the time Master gets back. Master will get to work with him too, but if i get the hard part out of the way, the very beginning, Master won't have to much to do, i think.
The weather was good for the workout. Not too hot for Max but almost too cool for me.
i didn't get the clie. First the place i expected to sell sonys didn't. And the PDA i was shown was way more than i wanted. And the store didn't carry anything less. They had a two year old model of some brand, i don't remember what, but it was a phone as well, and i have a phone. All i want is a simple clie. Don't need a camera, Don't want a phone, don't even care if it has windows on it or not. i just want something to keep my important things on. i forgot that in this country one has trouble finding the basic model. Here, if you can't have the top of the line, the one with the most fangangles, it isn't worth having. All i want is basic.
