An Iowa face is good

jdmkleinOn His way home from work today, Master had a little run-in with some American soldiers driving a HETS truck. The driver changed lanes without looking or signalling and got the left rear quarte panel of Mater's car. Not only didn't the truck stop, but the soldier riding in the passenger seat flipped Him off.
Master called me and told me to take down the numbers. He was on His way out to the base to drop off the Christmas cards from the kids in Miami. He said He was going to be a bit later because He wanted to talk to someone in charge about repairing His car.
It was nearly 6 by the time He got home, with no success. The only two things that made the trip worthwhile were that He got the cards delivered and He met one of 'our' soldiers from Christmas.
Apparently the base is very haphazardly managed. It didn't sound to me as if He was given grief, more like nobody knew what to do or whom to contact. He will be going out again tomorrow. He did find out that the soldiers are under no orders to continue when they are involved in an accident. They should have stopped. He also knows this is not a regular military vehicle, probably reserve or guard.
He sat out in front at the front gate of the base and watched the truck enter as he waited for the provost marshall. Tomorrow He will be going back. And he will continue to go back until He gets compensation, either by having the car repaired or,at the very least an apology from the soldiers involved.
i did get to talk to Bubba today also. It wasn't a very nice introduction, i called him to wish him a happy new year, and to tell him again that when he gets free time, we want him to call us. And then i asked for a favor. He will get me the phone numbers and email them to me tomorrow. In a situation like this, who you know, or almost know, or know somebody who knows somebody that counts. We will make it up to him when he comes for a visit.
