jdmkleini woke up this morning feeling fine. The sun is out and the sky is blue. i really shouldn't be happy about that. This part of the state really needs rain. The average for here is about 6+ inches in August. To date for the month, we've had .08. The eastern part of the state is down about 1/2 the normal summer rainfal. Yesterday a careless cigarette toss caused a brush fire near here. Not a bad fire, but took a lot of personnel to put it out. Fire fighters who were not available in case of a building fire. The mayors of CF and Wloo have put a burning ban on the cities. i am solar powered, so i don't care. i need sun.
Daughter went to the doc yesterday. Doc wants her to have a blood test to check for diabetes. i really don't think she has it, but the visit problem can be a sign of the disease. Auntie Nurse poo pooed the idea, so i don't know if Daughter is going to go or not. Probably not a bad idea if she does, just to be safe. She really doesn't need any more medical problems.
Today is doctor day for Mother now. Seems like all those two really ever do is doctor visits.
Auntie Nurse came over for dinner last night. We had peaches and cream sweet corn. Home grown tomatoes and home grown cukes. And that was all. Man oh boy was it good. We were coming back from the doc and on one corner there was a sign that screamed to me, You better stop here. At first i thought it was the New York Sub City sign, but on closer inspection i discovered it was the sign for sweet corn. Had to do it. Just had to. First corn for me of the year, and it was absolutely out of this world. Didn't buy enough, that's a fact. Of course there would have been if we hadn't have invited Auntie Nurse. Then we sat around the table and giggled for about an hour.
