500 fils = $1.50 (approx)
Jun. 16th, 2003 09:39 pmi spent the morning getting the newest course book ready for summer school. All was going fine until i got to unit five, it wouldn't print. This is supposed to be my week of vacation between the end of the semester and summer school. i'm not supposed to have to go into the office this week From the look of things, i'll be in there four out of five days this week.
As soon as i arrived my phone began ringing. Do they have a lookout who has a walkie talkie and lets them know the instant i am through the Gazali gate? And the VDSA, what is this all about? Going behind my back to one of the teachers and offering a third section to him? After i told him in no uncertain terms what the conditions for summer school are. That poophead.
And because of that i was late for my shopping lunch date. i found the store to end all stores. i bought my whole summer wardrobe and spent $15.00. i got two pairs of route 66 chinos, are they KMart or WalMart(?) a Bill Blass skort, a liz claiborne blouse, a bobby brookes t-shirt some shorts a night shirt, a robe, and two other blouses at the 500 fils store. Nothing in the store is over 1 dinar ($3.00). It is an amazing place. There are clothes for men, clothes for women, clothes for children, underwear, towels, and sewing notions. i guess it is like a factory outlet store, you have to be careful and look each item over closely to make sure there is nothing wrong, or irreparable. The skort was sewn front to back at the button hole...a seam ripper worked wonders. One blouse had a loose button, a bit of thread and a needle did the trick. For 500 fils i can make those repairs. The other items i could find nothing wrong. The chinos are too long, oh really? how strange, NOT, but i have that color thread too. i am so happy i found that store. If i had any idea what size the members of my family wore, i'd go back tomorrow and need a truck to get everything home. How cool. At one point in my life i had a fantasy of having a different outfit for everyday of the year. This may be the store to bring that fantasy to reality. i'm salivating.
