What is your approach to cooking?
i do not cook for leftovers. i portion out everything so that the chance of having something left over is slim. With the exception of soup. i am a vegan at heart, but eat meat on occasion with Master. i work hard to find tempting dishes that He will enjoy, but i prefer plain and simple food. Makes life a bit difficult at meal times because He is Mr. Meat-and-Potatoes-Spice-Man. If there were a particular style of cooking i prefer, it would be Midwestern California Cuisine. Clean and clear tasting small portions, beautifully displayed on the plate. Meals created around vegetables and grains of all shapes, colors, and sizes, with meat being minor to the meal.

You are a member of a divine pantheon. Describe yourself and your role.
i would be the mistress of animals.

<b>You are a member of a divine pantheon. Describe yourself and your role.</b>
i would be the mistress of animals. <lj-cut)The one who watches out for all non-human living creatures, with a special emphasis on the mammals of the sea. If i believed in reincarnation, i would have to say past lives revolved around the sea. Perhaps i was a sailor or a mermaid or a dolphin. If i believed in reincarnation i am not sure what i did in a past life to be made human in this. If i believed in reincarnation i would hope in a new life, if i came back as human again, i would be allowed to be a marine biologist. There is intelligence in animals beyond what we know. i would enjoy being a small part of the proof of that. </lj-cut>

<b>What message would you send to yourself at age 15?</b>
i would tell me to study languages more diligently.<lj-cut> Of course the languages i would probably have chosen would still have no relationship to the countries in which i've lived. On the other hand, the widening of my grammatical awareness of how languages are used, would have been a great help in learning the languages i have needed.</lj-cut>

<b>What book would you give to someone and say, "If you want to understand me, read this?"</b>
i would dig out the boxes of my journals <lj-cut>and tell the person to pick out one from each decade that i have been writing. i think they are indicative of how i have grown to be the woman i am. They tell the high and low points of my life and perhaps provide a rationale for why i did the things i have done.</lj-cut>

<b>Describe your ideal home.</b>
It would be on the island of Rota in the Northern Mariannas,<lj-cut> a 30 minute flight from Guam. There is no place on the island that does not have a view of the Pacific ocean. I would build it at the north end on the western side. It would be a simple place; square, with five rooms with four of them having views in two directions each, with lots of windows and open areas. The floors would be highly polished hard woods, the furniture rattan.

The living room would has two walls of glass looking north and west. The northern view is of b'day cake mountain and the bird sanctuary with its tree covered cliffs that drop into the Pacific. The western view is of the northwestern beaches and the natural aquarium, where i can snorkel and see the tropical fish who come in through the rock tunnel during the high tide.
There is nothing to cover the view from the windows, on the outside there is an awning to protect from the afternoon sun. The sunsets are beautiful from this view. i sit there each afternoon to bring peace to my day and to refresh my mind. The living room is done in pastels of green and yellow. The rattan furniture has no cushions during most of the year. In the colder months the cushions are put out to make the furniture warmer to sit on.

The kitchen also has windows with amazing views of the north and east. The sun comes up into the kitchen's eastern patio doors. There is a wood deck, covered to protect from the sun but otherwise open to the view and the air.The appliances in the kitchen are serviceable but not the newest or the most modern. They take care of the needs i have for keeping food. The window over the kitchen sink looks out onto Coral Bay. Some days there are fishing boats plying their trade out there. Some days the bay is filled with pleasure boats. Once or twice a week there is a small container boat that brings the goods we islanders need to survive and cannot produce on our own. There is a small dining set in the kitchen but it is used only on days when the weather does not permit being outside to eat. Even a bowl of cereal and a piece of toast take on a special quality when eaten outside enjoying the sunrise.

The bedrooms are located at the southeast and southwest corners of the house. Each has an ensuite bath. The Master bedroom has shades because Master likes total darkness when He sleeps in late. It is in the southwest corner. The widows look out to another view of the Pacific, to the west, and the flight path of the incoming planes over the ocean to the south. The Master bedroom has a small private deck. At night we like nothing better than to sit out watching the stars and let our bodies air dry from the shower. There are no bugs or mosquitoes to worry about. The most dangerous animal on the island is the pink gekko. They can surprise you when they fall from the ceiling into your tub, but the only way they can cause you harm is if you slip and fall trying to get out and away from them. The furnishings in the Master bedroom are also clean and simple. Master's dresser may have some clutter and also His bedside table, the rest of the room could be considered austere. Minimal, but it is my ideal house, right?

The guest bedroom also serves as an office. It is used more as that then as a guest room.It is quite large to hold the bedroom furniture and the desk for the computers. The visitors to my ideal home will have the sunrise to wake up to in the morning. The shower and tub area also has a window facing east, so they can watch the sun come up from their bath.

The room in the middle, between the two bedrooms is private. The door is usually kept locked. It is always immaculate and ready for use at any time, should Master desire.

Outside, surrounding the house is a native garden. It is not clipped and pruned and cutback to European garden standards. It is allowed to grow wild to entice the birds and butterflies to be a part of our life. There is no garage, since there is no car. The island is 9 miles long from tip to tip and 3 miles at the widest part. There is a small shed, though that houses four bikes and a small electric scooter. The scooter is used for emergency runs to town, for milk and bread and the like. The bikes are used for other everyday business.</lj-cut>

Visitors are welcome at any time.
