Now for the event that made this day a good one for me.

About 9:50 this morning the phone rang. I was still in bed, but thinking about the chores I had for the day, laundry being the big one. I took a second to make sure I didn't have the just woke up voice and then answered. It was Barbara Corson, from my writing group. After telling me who it was, she launched into one of the wildest stories I have heard in a long time.

Seems she got a phone call last night from from an employee from Blades by Cobb telling her the hoodie was ready for her. Barbara said she didn't understand. The woman asked if her name was Eileen Klein. "No." she said. The woman next asked if this was her phone number. "Yes," she replied. Well then the caller explained that the hoodie must be hers and went on to describe it as a Waterloo Black Hawks sweat shirt with Grandma Mills embroidered on the front, and she lived in Waterloo, so it must be hers.

Again Barbara explained the hoodie wasn't herss. She knew of the Black Hawks but had never been to a game. And she wasn't Eileen Klein. Finally, after some serious discussion Barbara said she knew some Kleins and she was willing to look into the matter further and would get back to the caller with any information she could find.

She called me this morning to see if I knew anyone by the name of Eileen Klein. She said she called her daughter's ex MIL but had no luck. She wondered if I knew anyone by that name. I said Eileen is my sister.
Barbara asked if I would be willing to give her Eileen's phone number so she could give it to Blades by Cobb who could then call Eileen and get the matter settled. I gave her the number and said I would call Eileen right away to let her know to expect the call.

We chatted a bit longer, said goodbye and hung up.

I called Eileen right away and told her about the phone call, and asked her if she knew anything about it. Last year while down in Texas she had left the hoodie at Blades by Cobb to have the Dallas Tigers' logo embroidered on it next to the Black Hawk. They told her it would be ready in about a week and Eileen left.
Then the pandemic hit and things went off the rails. The shop went on lockdown and then re-opened periodically. Eileen and Den came back to Iowa. Jaden joined a new team this year. Eileen and Den didn't go to the rink because they were no longer in Texas. Both Eileen and Cindy, Jaden's mom, called the shop several times, and left messages that were never returned. The whole thing fell by the wayside.

Now the shop was trying to clear up old business and called the number they had for Eileen, which was Barbara' cell phoneb number. Thank goodness Barbara is such a good person, and that way back in May of 2019 she answered my note on the Next Door page about a writing group. It was as if the stars had aligned that May so that Eileen's Waterloo Black Hawks hoodie could finally be returned to her this November, 2020.

I am still smiling.
