jdmkleinThe M1-A1 tanks are in Basra, in Southern Iraq. We saw helicopters on the ground in the desert. i saw my first official naval vessel out in the gulf yesterday, an LHA. i think that means launcher of hovering aircraft, but i'm not sure. The Kuwaiti Airforce general who told Master about the tanks says the people of the marshland put up no resistance. In fact, they apparently welcomed the U.S. with open arms. These are the people Saddam tried to destroy by drying up the marshlands in southern Iraq. Basra is about a 2 hr. drive from where we live.
Interesting picture in the paper yesterday, the camel races. i am hoping Master will scan it for me. If he does i'll send it to the kids.
Thank goodness today is virtual Friday. This is has been the work week from hell.
