jdmkleini'd like to be able to write that the move is done, but that would be a lie. i know it will be done before the first of the month, because that's when we have to be out of the other apartment, but it may not be until 11:59.59 pm on the thirtieth.
i love the new apartment. Today i hung sheets out on the clothesline Master put up for me. He said he bet my momma was as excited about her first clothes dryer as i was about the line to hang wash on. He said i just threw progress back 57 years. i don't care. There is something very comfortable about hanging up clean damp fresh-smelling clothes and being able to take down clean dry fresh smelling clothes a bit later. i believe it is no more work to hang laundry than it is to use a dryer. Of course Master let me know in no uncertain terms that His towels are to be dried in the dryer. He has a sensitive body. That's cool with me. i like scratchy towels.
The electrician came today and fixed all the lights and the circuit breakers and changed the phone line over. Now the DSL line is connected and i can use my computer to talk to Daughter. The plumber came at 1:00 today, right on the button and changed the sink for us. Took the one out of the old apartment that Master had put a new tap on and put it in this apartment because Master had to remodel the sink a bit to make it fit. Last night the plumber came and took out the bidets. Now poor dogs go around wondering where the running water dish is. Dogs will survive if they have to drink out of the regular water bowl.
Another couple of men came tonight to move the satellite dish from the old apartment. It could have been done tonight too, but when they got up there they found that three or four other cables are hooked up to Master's dish. Was me, i'd just pull the other wires off and be done with it. Let the guys who are scamming off Master's dish pitch a fit to the cable company. No skin off my nose. But Master is not mean. Called the cable company tonight. The cable guy is coming over tomorrow at 3:30 to see what'zup.
Daughter is going up to 'home' for Turkey Day. Her S.O. is staying home. Daughter-in-law will drive down to pick her up on Wednesday about noon. Then go to pick up the kids for the night. Daughter is staying with Son and family. i'm very very happy about that. They had a bit of a falling out a couple of years ago. i was afraid they would drift too far apart to get back together again. This seems to indicate that is not the case. i would hate for my children to become like other people i know who never see their sibs. i would be very unhappy about that. Family is important.
