For a virtual Monday, it was a pretty good day. Until the end of the work day, that is. i returned to my office after class and was greated with an urgent memo from the Dean. It seems the President, Vice Presidents, and Secretary General are coming to the faculy and all heads of department are expected to be in attendence. That would be all well and good, with one minor exception. The meeting is set for the exact same time as my midsemester exam. My students are nervous enough about the exam without my not showing up for it. Damn, i keep forgetting that univeristy is not for the students, it's for the politickers. Duh! me!

Oh! veil! i am watching the Breeder's Cup as i very write. Are you? Right now some smarmy 'Bob' guy, white hair and sunglasses is talking to the announcer. i hope he isn't someone especially important to the race. Santa Catarina, my favorite. i think she is one of the 'Bob's ' horses.

We took the dog to the desert early today. Trying to get him into a 12 hr exercise schedule. He was whipped after his run. Good. He spent most of the evening fagged out on the couch. Too pooped to pop as my mother would say. On the way out we saw a convoy of American military. i did my patriotic duty and waved at every single soldier. Most of them smiled and returned the wave. On the way back we passed another convoy going the other direction. i waved at all of them too. We were passing them too fast for me to know if any waved back. i hope! i want them to know i appreciate having their presence here. Makes me sleep a whole lot better.

The neighbors, actually the people whose flat we are taking over, had taken their dogs out and were just returning home as we were leaving. The wife had seen Max when he was a tiny bit of a thing. That was in June. She couldn't believe how big he'd gotten in such a short time. Also said he was a handsome dog. i think Guiness, their male, was a bit miffed by that. He barked at Max. So ok, i'll tell Guiness he's a handsome brute the next time i see him.

i am tired tonight. It was a good day and a busy one. After work i got sheera'ed. My fault, but i also got a humongo bruise on my knee. Shirely put a glob of the sheera stuff on my knee while she was doing my backside. The towel i was wearing got stuck in the glob. i tried to pull it off and managed to end up with a neato looking bruise for my effort.

Oh, veil. The commentary on this race, the juvenile fillies, is a bit inane. Half the time i don't think the commentators realize they have hot mikes. If they did, man would they be surprised and a bit embarrassed at what was going out over the air waves. And the winner is.....Composurre and Storm flad vlying....and the winner is.......Storm Flag Flying.

i was going to go back and change my typos, but i decided, i was excited and typing excited is my perogative. And Johnny is from where????? the jockey i mean.

i am all smooth and silky and soft and am going to bed and wait for Master. Perhaps my softness and silkiness and smoothness will give Him ideas. i could certainly use some pain.
