Oct. 8th, 2002 07:34 pmLife is a bit better today. i'm still not in a pleasing place, but it's not nearly so sour as yesterday. i've spent all day doing damage control as a reaction to what was done to us yesterday. The VDAA, Faculty Secretary and i drafted a memo to send to the dean in response to what was said at the infamous meeting. Those people don't know what the fuck they are talking about. And i'm done with that topic forever.
i have discovered one of the teachers in the unit is little miss control freak. She is taking to rewording texts because they aren't like she would do them. There is nothing wrong with the way they are worded, she just thinks it would be better 'this way,' i am going to have to talk to her about stylistic things for the book. If it is grammatically correct, falls within the Fleisch-Kincaid scale, has the vocab we are looking for and has the answers to the questions in the exercises, then she has not much say in how it is written.
Things are moving along swimmingly in other areas. i am not even needed anymore for the other chapters of the book. Not that that hurts my feelings in anyway, but it would have been nice to be notified about it. i've been racking my brain for the past week trying to come up with readings for the units and now today i find they are not needed. Keep me in the loop guys. i'm the money person.
We took Max out to the desert tonight for a run. Master let me drive. Max has such good fun sniffing round camel sheep footprints and camel pies. He'd stop now and then and look at us for a slurp of water and then prance off like a dog on a mission. i love watching him. He moves so gracefully and looks so beautiful. He is a damned nice dog.
i think we are going to be house hunting soon. Master had me call one of his fellow ball players who's a real estate agent. He is going to get back to us. Master thinks we should have a bit of a yard for the dog. i agree. i think sometimes in the nice season Max and the other would like to sit out in the sun on a patch of grass. i don't look forward to the job of packing and unpacking if we move, but i'm sure the dogs would like it. And since Master has been transferred to another base, it would be nice to be closer to both our work sites. i have no idea what we could get for the price we are paying now, or a bit more. Maybe M just laughed up his sleeve when i told him our price range. It's a thought but not something we have to act on. We don't have to move. But the weather is getting nicer, so we can if we want.
