Jan. 28th, 2005 07:53 amSarah got home about 4 pm on Friday afternoon. Eileen stopped on her way home from work to get her. i spoke with Sarah last night on the computer. According to her, one of her meds was the cause of the seizures. i'm waiting for a note from Auntie Nurse. Sarah cannot be left alone for awhile, until the docs are certain how the new med is going to work. She seems pretty ok with that. She is so relieved the tumor is *** back, she'll do anything. The new fella stopped by Friday night for a short visit, i thought that was quite nice of him.
Master is 'safe' up north. He probably won't be back until at least Monday, perhaps not even then, depending on the level of violence due to the election. He and the others at the port got a bit of a scare the other day. Seems there were some planned explosions by the police. The police told port security, but the security neglected to pass the info along. When the first explosion went of, a lot of men were hugging the floor. Masater could laugh about it the other night, but when it happened, He was sincerely wishing He was someplace else.
The borders are sealed, there is curfew from dusk to dawn. He is guarded by the British military. He is about 50 feet from the British mess, and less than 1 mile from the warehouse. i was feeling pretty good about His situation until i read that hundreds of police uniforms had gone missing and several police cars. i have to ask Him, but from the way the article read, it sounds like this is from His warehouse. i'm pretty sure the warehouse wasn't broken into; i think He would have told me if it had been. The items must have disappeared either on their way to or from. He has told me about shortages and open boxes that the warehouse has receieved.
Tomorrow i will go into the city and begin the process of refunding my ticket. i don't believe i am going to go out today. i have no real reason to do so and have decided not to tempt fate. City run the dog, in good light, and that's it. i feel pretty comfortable in the area that dawg runs. We are there every day, all of the construction workers recognize us, a couple even wave. While i wouldn't go looking for trouble there, i don't think i'm in any jeopardy for the 20 minutes or so that it takes.
Today i should do some academic reading, but i have a feeling that is not going to happen.
Girl with a Pearl Earring. Watched it last night. i kept thinking that it moved slowly, but then was amazed when it was over so quickly. The streets of Delft were just as i remembered them. i recognized many of the shops in the square, i even think i could pick out the one where we had a snack. Of course it was dressed differently in the movie, and there was no gihugic cat in the doorway. It was an interesting movie, not only because of the content, but also for the way it was put together. Oh, to have Scarlett Johansson's lips.
*NOT* There is supposed to be a NOT in that sentence. Ohmygod what a horrid horrid typo.
