Jul. 28th, 2004 07:28 pmA sandstorm today. Hairdryer hot winds filled with minute particles of dirt that cover your body like a second layer of clothing. Teeth feel gritty, hair is hard to comb because of the dirt in it. Sometimes i think an abiya isn't such a bad deal.
i saw an accident today. Just after i'd left Master. We had lunch out. He showed me His , finally, new company vehicle. A Galloper II, a Hundai. Not as nicely appointed as the Land Cruiser, but still a very nice machine. The accident was a one car thing. The driver rolled it. i don't know if the wind caught the vehicle and caused it to tip or not. What frightened me was that the vehicle was a white and silver Galloper II, brand new, just like Master's. i did something i try to avoid while driving. i called Master, just to make sure it wasn't Him. My head knew it was, my heart was sure hurting though, until i heard the sound of His voice.
i didn't actually 'see' the accident, it was about 4 cars ahead of me on the expressway, but i did see the swoosh of dirt and debris it caused to fly through the air. By the time i got to the wreck, there were at least a dozen cars were pulled over trying to help the people inside. i didn't stop, barely slowed down, there was enough help, i'm not muslim and it appeared to be a covered woman in the car. There have been several car fires lately and i didn't want to be close to an exploding vehicle. Call me chicken.
Master will be in Iraq all day tomorrow. Leaving here about 4:45 again. Iraq is an hour ahead of Kuwait. He should be home tomorrow night, and shouldn't have to work on Friday. He thinks He will be here on Saturday, but probably from Sunday to Wednesday He will be in UmQasr. i leave a week from tomorrow. We won't have much time together. Geof is here again. No private time at all. Bah!
