Well, it's done
Jan. 7th, 2005 07:05 pmThe Weider will be delivered sometime after noon on Monday. Master found one He liked, we comparison shopped, and then went back to it. Monday, after noon. When we got back to the apartment we rearranged the great room. Pushed the dining table up to the art wall and moved the bikes to the front corner next to the computer room balcony. Where the dining table used to be will some become the 461 Gym. Membership is 30 dinars/month unless Master or i like you. Hours will be from the time i get up to the time i go to bed. Shower facilities available towels extra. i can hardly wait.
i am leaning more and more toward a week in Corfu for winter break. i have been in contact with a travel agency on the island and the agent sent me info on a two bedroom apartment i can rent. It comes with central heat. i can rent a car for the week, and now i'm looking into the airfare. The travel agent quoted me a price about 100$ more than i found online. Tomorrow i'm going to call Olympic Air here and see if i can get an even better deal than online. The big hang-up for me is a 9+hr wait in the Athens airport. If i do this, it will be another first for me, to travel to a foreign country alone. And the only Greek word i know is aerodrome. i learned that the last time i was in Athens.
The travel agent suggested this as the place for me to stay.

i am thinking to take my laptop and have a working holiday, getting the course set up for a new teacher next semester and doing some reading and writing for the conference in March in Dubai. The more i think about it the excited-er i get. It looks beautiful. Corfu is not very large, i believe it can be driven around in a day. The village is mostly elderly, i wonder what that means, older than me or my age. i can sop at the local markets or go to another place to buy food. The beaches will be nearly deserted but the temps won't be much worse than here now. Maybe more rain. No TV in the apartment, but with the laptop i can watch DVDs. i'll have to get to some book stores and check out the unit's lending library. i think it is a doable vacation.
