The rain has finally stopped, but not until after we had three rivers of water running across the living room floor. Our best guess is that when the building was being cleaned, sandblasted, the cleaning crew must have blasted a bit farther into the building than necessary. At any rate, we have water drippping down the walls with such force that you can sit across the room and hear it fall onto the floor.

The rain has been replaced with fog. Again, fog so thick i can't see across the street. This morning when i got up, i couldn't even see the median. Master called when He got to work this morning and advised me not to go 7th ring road if i go out today. He saw 6 new accidents since coming home from work yesterday. Three rolled cars and several more than two car accidents. The sand is so fine here, that is sluices over the road like a mud river when there is a heavy rain. The mud is viscous and can grab a tire and pull the steering wheel right out of the driver's hand. Of course, there always have to be some idiots who think today is not their day to die, and they could be right, but that doesn't mean today isn't their day for an accident. They feel compelled to drive over the speed limit and weave in and out of traffic. i have halfway decide to stay home again today. There are some things i want to do, and things i want to get, but i'm having trouble deciding if they are worth the stress.

The fog has brought a migraine. i haven't mentioned it to Master. i don't like Him worrying about me like that. i just remembered i do have on 'magic' pill left. i must find it and take it.

One of the nice things resulting from the fog is the sound of the fog horns. Even with the windows closed, i can hear them on the container boats and tankers. It is an amazing sound. Every bit like the description one reads in haunting love stories, or mysteries. And a bit more. Hard to describe, but i love the sound.

In just the time it has taken to write this, the world has gotten brighter. The fog seems to be lifting. The world is still grey, but at least i can see all the way across the street now.

It's back

The rain is back, and funny, the fog hasn't left, and it has gotten cold and windy. Strange weather, this.

There was a brief period of sunshine today and it fooled me into thinking it was going to last so i went to the fabric souk and got some yarn. Then, because the sun was still shining and i didn't feel like going back home i stopped at Starbuck's, got a latte grande and started a sweater for Germany. And the cleaning woman was there, and my puritan work ethic makes me very uncomfortable to see someone else working when i am not.

By the time i got ready to come home, the clouds had come back,
drat. So i sat on the couch and knit all afternoon. i am going to have to see about getting an nursery rocker.

Thank you jade, the vitamin B complex is working. My spirits are much better now. Either that or the latte is still got hold.

Master is waiting, not very patiently, for word of the birth of His first granddaughter. His daughter went to the hospital about 9 (central time) this morning. i hope she has it before we go to bed tonight. i hope everything goes well for her.

Master has lost 35 pounds as of today. This is since September 24. i forgot to weigh myself this morning. The first time i forgot Monday is national weigh-in day at our house. i will remember tomorrow. He told me last night He can see less of my face...i think that means it is getting thinner, either that or He needs His glasses changed.

If this rain doesn't stop, i may never get to ride my bike again.
