May. 22nd, 2003 07:11 pmi don't know why i am punishing myself today. i have a chocolate craving i can't control and i am making myself sick. i have had the equivalent of two candy bars today and i feel really sick. Any good that has been done by my eating healthy for the past month has been offset by the chocolate binge today. i'm out of calcium, have been out for a week, i wonder if that has anything to do with it.
The sand that has been in the air all week got reinforcement today. Last night i couldn't see the lights on the pumping station, today i can't see out to the coast guard boat. Good thing i've kept the apartment closed.. i wake up in the morning with something similar to smokers gak, it's because of the dirty air i think. This weather sucks.
i went shopping for a baby gift today. Saturday i'm going to visit S and her new baby. He's almost three months old now. i hope i got something he can wear. i also got her daughter a little dress and some Barbie sunglasses. Where were clothes like this when my kids were little? My daughter grew up stylin'. She got retro clothes. Her paternal grandmother was a terminal saver. She had one daughter. She was also an excellent seamstress. For the first five years of her life, Daughter never had storebought anything but unders, shoes, and socks. Gramma made everything, or gave her the clothes Aunt R wore as a child. Daughter looked so cute. Aunt R was just enough older that the clothes didn't look 'hand-me-down', but very trendy. i have such great remembories of her as a child.
Life was a bit different by the time Son was born, i have good memories of him as a child also, but there were better times when he was with me in Taiwan. i'm not too pleased with him right now. He has a nasty stubborn streak and it showed last week. i don't know where he got it.
My big plan for tomorrow is to go to Ace and try to find a sponge mop. If i can't find one there, i will go to True Value. Then i am thinking about Ikea for some new bedroom lamps. i'm tired of max coming in during the night and touching his nose to the lamp and turning it on. i saw some tremendously neat lamp shades at Landmark. They were a bit on the expensive side but if they are still there i'm going to buy them.
