Feb. 15th, 2003 08:33 pmThe first day of classes was hell. One of the part time teachers never got notified and didn't show up for class. The Brit is back peddling, but still making me angry. The Dean is on my back about things that are not his concern. If he doesn't like what i am doing he can certainly take it the job away from me. i didn't ever want it in the first place. i have the first day of class pretty well prepped, it doesn't start until 2 in the afternoon. This is not going to be my favorite semester. i hate late afternoon classes. And it meets on Wednesdays too, the last day of the week, the last class of the week. And an hour drive home.
Part of my problem was the upstairs neighbor and his party. Why the heck would anyone have a party on a virtual Sunday night? Music loud enough to roast your ears. And, this is from an eye witness, Master, a 350 pound woman dancing in the room directly above our bedroom. i went to bed at 9:00, didn't get to sleep until 1:30.Some fun. Dog didn't get a walk in the morning. i feel so guilty. So, as soon as i'm done here, i am taking a bath and hitting the hay. Clothes are ironed, Master's lunch is packed. i'm on top of stuff tonight.
Daughter's S.O. is still a bit spaced. The boys were over and talked to their dad. They think he is getting better. i'm a bit concerned about Daughter. i honestly don't believe he would be mean or intentionally hurt her, but when she tried to hug him yesterday he pushed her away. If he isn't healthy how can he be on the watch for her health problems. Times like this make me wish i lived in their town.
VDAA called, was surprised i answered the phone. i told him i was surprised he was back. i like him. He is concerned about my mental state. i imagine he's more afraid that i will leave rather than how i'll handle things. He doesn't know what the stuff i am made of is.
i am growing further and further away from the other teachers. No one came in to say hello today. With the exception of Suhare. i like her so much. i keep teasing her the baby will be born about 45 seconds after war is declared. My hope is she delivers before that. She doesn't need this extra stress. She'll get through it and be good.
i saw camels today. Near the airport. Master said about 7 charter planes came in today. And when we went past the airport there were 5 or 6 cargo planes sitting around. We saw a huge convoy on the way to the desert. i wave, sometimes they wave back, sometimes they don't. Soon there will be more military in Kuwait than Kuwaitis. And that's the truth.
