Dec. 30th, 2002 07:49 pmi should have gone into work today. At least that way my day would not have been totally ruined when all hell broke loose. Now, again, i have the great good fortune of trying to stop the leak created by the dean. Hindsight is 20/20 and in hindsight i should never have let those two go see him. Combined they don't have the backbone of a worm. i like them both, but they are spineless. And they seem to think we can pull a miracle out of our butts. Well they are wrong. i absolutely wish the dean didn't work in crisis mode so often.
Master took me out for Thai food tonight. i made Him banana pudding. He wanted chocolate chip cookies, didn't have any chips, so He said, ok, bake brownies. Didn't have any brownie mix. He said, never mind i can do it next week. i felt bad, and thought and thought and thought and decided banana pudding would make Him happy. It did.
It appears now, instead of celebrating the first on the fourth, we will be having a long weekend. Not only is Wednesday a holiday, like the rest of the world, but also Saturday is a holiday. Some one in parliament suddenly remembered that this is the 25th year of the emir's reign and we should be celebrating his anniversary. So, now we get a long weekend, for now, at least at 7:46 pm Kuwait time, Monday evening, December 30, 2002. But it could change. Too bad they didn't let us know sooner, so we could maybe take a weekend trip to Dubai. But of course now, there isn't time to get an exit letter. Of course, only those of us who work for ministries need an exit letter. The rest of the ex-pats can leave anytime, for any reason. But we can't. It's ok, i guess. There are many things to do around the apartment, but daymn, it would be nice to have a choice.
