jdmkleinIt was quiet in the office today, uncommonly quiet, unnaturally quiet even. She has everyone so uncomfortable the whole office is tiptoeing around like she was a glass egg. i have asked her to write out specifics of what she expects from the coordinator, and i asked the same of the other teacher in the course. Then on Saturday, the coordinator and i are going to sit down and look at what they expect and see what he is doing. In hindsight, i should have asked him to write down what he thinks he does. After that, i am going to show him an old coordinator's job description, and see if we can't get some peace and quiet back in the unit again.
i have half a notion to make an appointment with the VDAA and make her come with me. Then i will have him mediate and see if he can keep her from going orbital while i tell her what a whiney, snotty, spoiled bitch she is, ever so politely of course. No, i won't do that, she isn't worth the energy.
i have also made a decision that everyone will be teaching 15 hours next semester. He said one of the things that is a problem is in other units all coordinators only teach 10 hours, and other teachers in the unit teach 15. Ok, if that's what he wants, 15 hours is what he is going to get. It will sure as heck make my workload a lot lighter. That works for me. By god, i can't fault the other units now can i? And it solves the problem of having too many students in too small rooms. And it will solve the problem of revising the curriculum, it will be the coordinators responsibility. They will have 5 hr/week released time. Boy are they going to be in for a surprise.
