jdmkleinSpent the morning sewing with Sarah. She did a good job but i think she felt rushed. It wasn't my intention to rush her. i tried to go slow and make her comfortable. She made most of her caftan, i put the facing in for her because that is tight sewing with all the material,but she did all the rest. With some practice she can become as good a seamstress as she is a knitter, i think.
Took Pat out to lunch at Mainly Lou's with Mother and Sarah. It could have been a bit better. Sarah walked through the screen door and i think it embarassed her more than it hurt her. She is so afraid Mother is going to rail on her for everything that happens. She tries to be so perfect and then is upset when things go wrong. When we got Pat back to go for work, she and i went out to do an errand for Auntie Nurse. She was in better spirits by the time we got back.
While we were out i bought some hardware to fix the door. i took care of that part but had to have Eileen come over and help me put it up. We got it working just fine. It didn't even take knitting needles or masking tape. i knew watching all those home improvement programs would come in handy one day.
Today Sarah has her first visit with a counselor. i will go with to take her. i hope things go well. She and Mother are really good for each other, if they would just stop trying so hard. i can't go there now, there isn't enough time before i leave.
