jdmkleinHad a wonderful afternoon with my two oldest and dearest friends. Not nearly long enough, but i cherish the short time we get with each other in the summer. Lots of the talk centered around grandbabies but i don't mind when i'm with them.
Then another wonderful thing, i got to talk with that LMSG from New Jersey when i got home. The phone call got interrupted by someone, i can't imagine who, and when she tried to call back, the phone line weirded out and rang through to the answering machine rather than home. It is amazing to me how some people can enter one's life by accident and feel so comfortable immediately. We talked on the phone like a pair of old fishwives, nonstop. We laughed and joked and made plans for next year, sans the blackout, of course. At least that is my intention. i do not want to be responsible for every bad thing that happens again next summer.
Today Auntie Nurse and i are spending a day together. i have to get Daughter's b'day gift. i've found a combination vcr and dvd player at Best Buy. i think that's the choice for this year. i know she wants one and this one is quite inexpensive, but a name i recognize at least. i found one even less expensive, but a brand whose name i can't pronounce and have never seen before. After that i have no idea what we will do. I'm trying to think of something. Maybe take a road trip to the Field of Dreams place, where the movie was made. When we talked last night, she asked if she should pack a toothbrush. i said no because tomorrow is Daughter's day, but if we got home in the morning, it wouldn't hurt anything would it? Will have to see what the day brings. Then maybe we could drive up to the Twin Cities and see that Mall America place. Not that i'm that much of a shopper, but we shall see what happens.
