An interesting 2 hrs.
Jul. 13th, 2003 06:46 amWhy do men have to be such guys? The wind has been blowing for three days, strong, for three days. The desert of Kuwait is known as a shifting sand desert, the sand moves, it's loose, on windy days you can see it move on the desert floor. We took the dog out yesterday, a windy day. As we drove onto the desert i asked Master to please stay on the road, as i looked ahead and saw a drift covering where we had driven yesterday. (Drift = foreshadowing, a literary term for giving a hint as to what is coming next.)
90 minutes later, sand burrs in the soles of my feet because "oh goodness me! i didn't wear my car pushing shoes!", nails cracked and filled with sand, Master filthy dirty from jacking up the car to put pieces of whatever we can find that is NOT sand under it, and both of us dying of thirst because the only water we brought was for the dog, we are on our way off the desert. Max got a good play, and yelled at several times, but no run. But he wasn't thirsty, oh no, he had water.
And good woman that i am, i have not said one word. Not ONE word. But jaizus the inside of my mouth is sore from biting my tongue and cheek to keep from doing so. NOT ONE WORD.
And for my digging and pushing effort, today my back is in spasms, and my knees feel as if an Abrams tank has gone back and forth over them. Men!
