Jul. 9th, 2003 07:47 pmThe weather has broken, and so has my headache. Not a migraine, thank goodness, but a last all day kind. The weather changed for the worse, but at least it changed and i have one less pain to distract me today. My knees hurt so bad last night i thought i might have bone cancer in them. Memories of low potassium leg cramps haunted me in the night. Ended up on the couch from 12:30 to 3:30 because i couldn't find a comfortable position in the bed. i hate to disturb Master's sleep.
Today my pain in the butt student came into the office, just as i was getting ready to leave. She is a nice girl, but so nervous about her school work, she comes by at least once a day to ask questions. Now i don't mind students asking questions at all, but i do believe they should have some confidence in their work. She is no star, but she's not the weakest one in the class. She asked me if i was angry because she came in so much. i told her no, and i meant it, but i was going to limit her to only my office hours and if she came before or after or on a non-office day i was not going to talk to her. She would just have to tough it out.
As i was on my way home i was thinking about it. i decided that was a pretty passive/agressive thing for her to do. She wants approval. She must be one of several children or an unwanted child. She is so needy for attention. She forced me to make a statement i would not have made in other circumstances. And duh! me, i fell for it. The little stinker.
Mother must have settled down and accepted the fact that the move is going to take place. She asked Daughter to go for a walk with her yesterday. That seems to be a step in the right direction. i'm glad, but i know she will be a controller until her last day on earth.
Another good day in class. i really like these kids. Even Miss Pitb. They aren't the brightest bulbs in Kuwait, but there aren't many who are.
