i had a really good telephone interview today with a Spanish Canadian. i may have to try to use what little wasta i have to get this man here. And, i got an email message from another man i've been nurturing for the past four months. He got his nomination offer the other day. Now, if i can just get him to say yes, that will lessen the load a little bit next year. There is another man i've been nurturing along also. i don't know where he is in the hiring red tape derby, but i hope i hear soon. The other good news is that K's contract was renewed. That was a sweat-er. The vice rector didn't really want to renew her, and the dean didn't want to fight for her. But she was given an intent to renew, and the request for a ticket voucher, so we played the long shot, and it worked.
We also had a meeting for the new book today. J and P did a great job on the first unit. Now J and i will begin working on the second unit. The goal is to have the first 4 units finished before the end of this semester. J and S and J are all going to be here a while in the summer. i don't go home until July 9, so maybe we can get the 5th unit done too. That would take a lot of pressure off us for next semester. And give us more time to work on the second book.
Tomorrow i have a meeting with someone in the ministry of information about copy right and stuff like that. Master and i drove into the city this afternoon so i could find the place. Then we hit a bike shop so He could buy some new spokes for His bike. Then we did dinner at TGIF's. i was partially good, had a house salad, and partially bad, had sesame chicken strips and iced tea. All in all it was a fruitful trip to the city. So often the only thing we get when we try a city trip is frustrated. We didn't find the bike souks, but we were lucky with the one bike shop. Master still would like a new tire for His bike, the rear one is weather checked. It's ok for now, but if He rides much in the sun it may deteriorate too badly to ride.
Today is moving day for the daughter. i copied a Doors cd for her and then brailled out the play list for her. Took it to the office today so i could mail it to her. DUH! i didn't have the new address. Will have to do it tomorrow or Monday.
i think i'm going to start riding twice a day this week. i didn't ride this morning, because the roads were too wet, but i did ride tonight. i will ride tomorrow morning and again tomorrow afternoon. i feel the need to do this. Maybe the reason i feel the need to do this is because i feel the need not to be caned again tomorrow.
Master said i can't weigh myself until i get home from work tomorrow. He doesn't want the punishment to hang over my head all day. What does He think? i'm not going to think about it? Doesn't He know it will be even more worrisome because i won't know what is going to happen tomorrow afternoon? Sheesh! i can be flip about it now, but tomorrow is not going to be a good day, i know it. Not until after 3 pm.
No matter what happens, i'm going to make yogurt tomorrow.
