The Gym is all fixed and in good working order. i did a 35 minute workout this afternoon. Worked up a sweat. i did 8 different exercises, there are more, but i haven't figured them out yet. For almost all of them, i could do 3 sets of 10 reps each. For the hip abduction, i can barely do any with the lowest amount of weight possible. Perhaps i am doing it wrong, but i think not. i will just have to work at it. After vacation i will start riding on alternate days, so that i get a workout at least five days per week. i had forgotten how much i like how i feel after a good workout. i intend to get up to 60 minutes of strength training 3 days a week. i know i can do it, i've done it before. Will wait and see how long it lasts. But, given the fact that the darned machine is in the front room, it can not easily be avoided.
Not much else to write about. i feel a bit disjointed now that classes are over and there is no work to do. i am going into the office on Saturday to conduct an interview with one of my former students. It will be used as data for the paper for the conference. i have some reading to take to Corfu with me, so i can start roughing it out. There is one more student i want to interview, i haven't been able to contact him. If i can't get him on the phone on Saturday, i'll send him an email if i still have his addy. Lynette will transcribe the interview for me during the break. The academic reading, pleasure reading, knitting, and sitting watching the world go by with a nice glass of wine sounds like a divine vacation for me. Add to that a wee bit of island exploration, and i'm good to go. Now that i've figured out the driving situation.
Must remember to get that international license.
