Up north is now back on sun time. No more getting up before 5 to get Master on the road so He can be at the warehouse by 8. The wind shifted today. It is now coming from the south, the winter wind direction. It may shift again two or three times before it decides to stay there for winter. This means we could have rain again at any time. Probably it won't happen until late November or early December, but the possibility is there.

Had a good time with the students today. i tried something new with conferencing, had them come in groups instead of individually. i still said the same thing over and over again, but today it was only 10 times instead of the usual 30. And we had more examples of sources for the kids to see. Most all of them were not acceptable, but they now have an idea of what is and is not good for research. This is a hard lesson for them to learn. Just because i tell them they can do research on the internet dpesn't mean that everything they find is good. i'll keep pounding, they will get it before January. Of this i am certain.

Eileen called this morning. We talked about Ellen. Eileen was diagnosed with the same cancer 15 years ago. She had a partial hyst. i feel better now, but the fact that this has all happened so suddenly. And Eileen says it is a fast cancer. Her doc spotted suspiscious things in Sept, and by Jan, when she had the hyst she was full blown carcinoma. Ellen is a nurse too, and i'm positive she gets all the regular checkups when they are required. Ellen's doc must have caught it early. It's the word that scares me. i have chosen to live where i do, but there are times when i am not happy with my choice. Because of my fears for Ellen, this is one of them.

Sarah is having falling down seizures now. She has an appoinotment Monday for the doc. She goes rigid in the extremeties, and arches her back. She isn't spasming or foaming, but she is having them more often and they are becoming more severe. i am also having fear attacks for her. Today she and D-I-L are doing a walk for autism. i hope Sarah can do it ok.

Eileen said Sarah's been quite mellow this week. Cuz she's had lots of things to do.

Mother went to the first session of her class reunion last night. Eileen said Mother looked very pretty. And, that she had a good time. She stayed until the very end. Cool, that. Tonight is the dinner. We went shopping for a nice dressy outfit for this night just before i left for Kuwait. I think Eileen scared the vertigo out of her too. She told Mother she hoped the vertigo wasn't psychosomatic. Mother has a knack for getting psychosomatic illnesses when she gets nervous. She was feeling good enough to go last night. And she had a good time.

Den wore his tightie whities to work today, and they hurt the incision. Tonight it's supposed to be cold, so tomorrow he can start wearing his flannels.

i'm having a crampy right leg. i guess i'll have to start taking the potassium again.

What does one get a man who will be 60 in 12 days?
